b. Nov. 12, 1888 in Burlington, Wis. m. Jan. 1, 1918 at Racine, Wis. Deborah Marie Mogensen. He was educated in Rochester Academy (1905); Beloit College (1910) B.S.; I.C.S. Structural Engineer; University of Wis. (1918) C. E. Was instructor in Mathematics and Athletic Coach, Whitewater High School, Whitewater, Wis. 1910-1911; Erection Supt. (structural iron work) for Worden-Allen Co. Milwaukee, 1911-1915; Millwright at mines for Allen & Garcia Co. Chicago, 1915-1916; Engineer Corps U.S.A. April 1917 to Aug. 1919. Served in A.E.F., North Russia, 1st Bn.--310th Engineers U.S.A. Discharged--Capt. Engineers; in 1919-1925 with Allen & Garcia Co., Chicago, design, estimate, construction, operation, appraisal and report on mines and mining plants. He was a member of the firm. In 1925-1932 was engaged in consulting work, reports and appraisals. His mining experience in copper, silver, gold, lead, zinc, salt and coal is extensive. He is a member of A.I.M.M.E., Western Society Engineers, S.A.M.E. Decorated during World War I by British and Russian Governments in the field. Major 311th Engineers; In charge "Mineral Industries Applied Science and Industry Division", "A Century of Progress Exposition" at Chicago, 1933. Enlisted World War I May 12, 1917--Discharged Captain C.E. Aug. 9, 1919. Appointed Major, C.E. Reserves May 24, 1924, promoted Lt. Col. Apr. 9, 1936, and Col. Apr. 1, 1943, U.S.A. Member--Beta Theta Pi and Masonic--32nd Deg. Member Presbyterian Church. Is now stationed at Ft. Sill, Okl. (1943). [axb45.ged]
