b. Nov. 21, 1869, in South Adams, Mass. Went to Thornton, Ill., in 1871 with

his father's family. Graduated from Park College, Parkville, Mo., 1898,

attended San Francisco Seminary of Presbyterian Church 1898-1900, graduated

McCormick Seminary, Chicago, Ill., 1901, received Master of Arts degree, Park

College, 1907. On July 30, 1902, he married at Homewood, Ill., Maie Gleason

(b. April 21, 1878, at Ft. Dodge, Ia.), daughter of John and Margaret

Gleason. He was Pastor of Presbyterian Churches at Sandstone, Minn.,

1901-1904, Winnebago, Ill., 1904-1912, Manitowoc, Wis., 1912-1921,

Scottsbluffs, Nebr., 1921-1927, Cudmore Church, Detroit, Mich., 1928-1933,

and Leitch Memorial Church, Detroit, Mich., 1933 to present (1945). He has

filled many positions of prominence in the church: Pension Drive for the

Church in Texas, 1927; Chairman Home Mission Committee of Synod of Ill.,

1911; Member of Advisory Council of Church Extension of General Assembly at

Louisville, Ky., 1921; Moderator of the Presbyteries of Duluth, Minn.,

Freeport, Ill., and Milwaukee, Wis.; Moderator of the Synod of Nebr. 1927-28;

Stated Clerk of Box Butte Presbytery 1922-28, as well as Commissioner at

General Assembly at Louisville, Ky. 1912, Winona Lake, Ind. 1921, Grand

Rapids, Mich. 1924, and Pittsburgh, Pa. He is pastor of the Leitch Memorial

Presbyterian Church at Detroit, Mich. (1945)
