Note on Husband: Charles Franklin AXTELL

b. May 26, 1845, in Morristown, N.J. On Sept. 26, 1883, he married Ella M.

Patterson of Stratford, Conn. He learned the printer's trade and at one time

was associate publisher of "The Jerseyman," a newspaper printed at

Morristown, N.J. He afterward studied law and took an active part in

political matters. In 1879, he was elected to represent the First Legislative

District of Morris Co. in the lower branch of the State Legislature, and in

1880 was re-elected to the same position. Some years ago, while in England,

he and his wife spent some time at Berkhamstead looking up the Axtell

ancestors and while there obtained a copy of the Axtell Coat of Arms. He was

very much interested in the Axtell genealogy, and gathered considerable data

of the New Jersey branch for Ephraim S. Axtell, which was published in 1886.

In 1912 he moved to Stratford, Conn., the former home of his wife, where he

died Dec. 12, 1913. He was buried in Morristown, N.J.

Note on Wife: Ella M. PATTERSON

of Stratford, CT.
