Note on Husband: Lucien Victor AXTELL
b. June 30, 1863, at Perry, Ohio, m. Josephine Ashley Feb. 21, 1885. She was
born April 24, 1863. He lived on a large farm at Perry and carried on an
extensive business of raising and selling Guernsey cattle, owned the best
prize-winning herd of this breed. His exhibit won the grand sweepstakes prize
as the best dairy herd of any breed of cattle at the Ohio State Fair, 1888.
Lucien V. was a fine specimen of manly vigor and business capacity. He had a
great fondness for literature and possessed an extensive library. He took a
great interest in the Axtell genealogy. He died April 20, 1930.
