b. June 26, 1831 in Mercer Co., Pa. He went with his father's family to

Athens, Ohio, in 1840. He married on Oct. 23, 1855 at Tipton, Ind., Nancy Ann

Thomas (b. July 11, 1828 at Lexington, Ky.), she died at Sharpsville, Ind.,

March 14, 1886. He married (2) Mrs. Lavina Albright at Fairfield, Ind., in

1889. In his early manhood he freighted from Athens to Chillicothe, Ohio. He

moved with his family to Windfall, Ind., in his early twenties. He was a

farmer. He was raised a strict Presbyterian, but was not a member of the

church. he died in 1898 at Kokomo, Ind., and was buried in Tipton, Ind.
