b. Feb. 12, 1822, at Wilmington, Vt. He was brought with his family to N.Y.

in 1826, and after five years spent near Jamestown he went to Perry, Lake

Co., Ohio. Married Emeline Webb Warner Oct. 25, 1848 (b. Apr. 13, 1827). He

followed farming until 1856, when he moved to Painesville, where for thirty

years he engaged in banking and at the time of his death was president of the

National Bank of Painesville. A man of strictest business integrity and

highly esteemed by all for his manly character, sincere in his convictions of

right and wrong, and untiring in his efforts to accomplish whatever he

undertook whether opposed by few or many. His record, extending through many

years, is without a blemish. He died at San Diego, Calif., Jan. 8, 1888.
