Note on Husband: Silas AXTELL

b. in Taunton, Mass., Aug. 24, 1747; m. Sybil Hoskins Oct. 13, 1772. He was a

signer of a covenant not to aid the British (see Hurd's History of Bristol

Co.). He served in the Revolutionary Army in 1776. In 1778 Silas Axtell,

joiner, bought real estate in Petersham, Mass., which he deeded away in 1793.

He moved to Wilmington, Vt., where he died Feb. 1, 1805.

 

Three of the daughters married: Hastings, Crosby, and Nims.
