An Axtell/Mount family history says that her father was really Nathan and that her mother died young and an aunt raised her until she went to Illinois to live with her uncle Thomas. This is unlikely since her uncle Nathan was only 11 when she was born according to Axtell sources and family dates. It is Elizabeth's mother Sarah who died young and she may have lived away from the family when she was young, her mother was also an Axtell by heritage.
